AWS notes – Others

This was my preparation note while I appeared for AWS solution architect – Associate exam. I cleared it in first attempt with good margin. Sharing it here as I guess it helps for beginners and aspirants.

AMI - Amazon Machine Image

AMI are simply EBS snapshot of root volume.
They are stored in s3.
AMI are regional. To get than available in another region, you would have to copy it.

Amazon support

Multiple levels – Basic, Developer, Business, Enterprise.
For business level support, turn-around time is 1hr.

Resource Tagging

Resource group allows organize AWS resources based on tags across regions.

Consolidated Billing

Consolidated billing allows having single party account for multiple accounts. Currently the soft limit is 20. Helps reduced spent because of volume based pricing.

Virtualization

Types of virtualization available in AWS – Para Virtual (PV) and Hardware Virtual Machine (HVM).
